By installing the TruthLens Chrome extension, creating a TruthLens account, or accessing any part of the TruthLens service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service.
These Terms form a legal agreement between you and Troyridge Consulting Inc., operating as TruthLens ("TruthLens", "we", "us", or "our"), a corporation incorporated under the laws of Ontario, Canada.
TruthLens is a browser extension and associated backend service that uses artificial intelligence to help users assess the credibility of web content and detect AI-generated images and deepfakes. The service includes:
You must be at least 13 years of age to use TruthLens. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are using TruthLens on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
Certain features of TruthLens require a registered account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at hello@usetruthlens.com if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.
You may not create accounts by automated means, share your account with others outside of the device limits described in Section 5, or use another person's account without their permission.
TruthLens offers the following subscription plans. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and exclude applicable taxes. US and international users are billed in CAD; your payment provider will apply the prevailing exchange rate at the time of billing.

Free trial. Pro and Pro+ plans include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Your payment method will not be charged until the trial period ends. You may cancel at any time during the trial at no charge.
Billing cycle. Monthly plans are billed on the same calendar date each month. Annual plans are billed once per year on the anniversary of your subscription start date. You will receive an email receipt after each charge.
Usage limits. Each plan includes monthly and, for some plans, daily limits on the number of analyses. Unused analyses do not roll over to the following month. Daily soft caps reset at midnight UTC. Reaching a limit will pause analysis for the remainder of that billing period or day; the extension will display a clear message when this occurs.
Authorized devices. Your subscription may be used simultaneously across the number of devices indicated for your plan. We reserve the right to suspend accounts where usage patterns suggest credential sharing beyond the permitted device count.
Price changes. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before increasing prices on active subscriptions. Notice will be sent to the email address on your account. Continued use of the service after the effective date of a price change constitutes your acceptance of the new price.
Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you will retain access to paid features until that date. We do not prorate partial months for monthly plans.
Annual plans. Annual subscriptions may be cancelled at any time. If you cancel within 14 days of your initial annual purchase and have used fewer than 10 analyses during that period, you may request a full refund by emailing hello@usetruthlens.com. After 14 days or beyond 10 analyses, annual subscriptions are non-refundable.
Free trial cancellation. If you cancel during the 7-day free trial period, you will not be charged.
Refund requests. To request a refund outside the above policy — for example, due to a billing error or service outage — contact us at hello@usetruthlens.com. We will review each request on its merits and respond within 5 business days.
You agree to use TruthLens only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

TruthLens uses the following third-party AI services to deliver its core functionality:
TruthLens is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic, Hive AI, or Google. The availability and quality of our service depends in part on these third-party providers; we are not liable for disruptions or changes to their services.
AI-generated analysis results may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. TruthLens does not guarantee that any content flagged as potentially misleading is in fact misleading, or that content not flagged is accurate. You are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on TruthLens results.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TruthLens and Troyridge Consulting Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, or goodwill — arising out of or in connection with your use of the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you to TruthLens in the three months preceding the claim, or (b) CA$10.00.
TruthLens, its logo, and the underlying software are the property of Troyridge Consulting Inc. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the service. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the extension for personal or internal business purposes in accordance with these Terms.
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the service for analysis. By submitting content, you grant TruthLens a limited licence to process that content solely for the purpose of providing the requested analysis.
Your use of TruthLens is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the service, you consent to the data practices described in that policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access to TruthLens at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, if we determine in our sole discretion that you have violated these Terms or that your account poses a risk to the service or other users.
Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 7, 9, 10, and 13 — will continue to apply.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect when the Terms were last revised.
Continued use of the service after the effective date of any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the service before the effective date.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved by contacting us at hello@usetruthlens.com. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, either party may pursue remedies available under applicable law in the courts of Ontario, Canada, and each party irrevocably submits to the jurisdiction of those courts.
